How to submit public comments to the DEC

NYSDEC PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR CPV AIR PERMIT RENEWAL:

The NYSDEC is now holding public comments on CPV’s application for an air permit renewal. You can send in your own comments or use our prepared comments here. Check this site (below)  every day from now until October 5th 2018 for a series of draft comments.
Written Comments: All written comments concerning CPV’s ASF permit renewal application, DEC’s notice of denial, and CPV’s request for a hearing must be postmarked by Friday, October 5, 2018 and mailed to Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Michael S. Caruso, DEC Office of Hearings and Mediation Services, 625 Broadway, First Floor, Albany, New York 12233-1550, or e-mailed to ALJ Caruso at CPV_Valley@dec.ny.gov by 5:00 PM on Friday, October 5, 2018. Written comments will be considered equally with oral statements delivered at the legislative public hearing, provided they are postmarked by Friday, October 5, 2018 or e-mailed by 5:00 PM on that date.
CPV applied for an air permit renewal in January of 2018. It was denied on August 1st 2018 by DEC, which temporarily halted operations. An Albany State Supreme court overturned the denial. (We’ve been down this path before with the DEC’s denial of the water permit). Comments are accepted until October 5th. There will be a public hearing on the September 26th at 2pm and 7pm at the Emergency Response Center in Goshen NY 22 Wells Farm Rd. where you will be able to present your comments and express how this has impacted you. Let’s flood the DEC with comments before CPV floods our air and water with dangerous toxins.

The comments below are from the 2017 lateral pipeline hearing. Sadly, it has been constructed and is now complete.

All comments must be submitted to the NYSDEC by 5pm August 4th 2017.  We have a series of prepared comments already written out which you can edit. They are programmed to be sent directly to the Commissioner of the DEC as well as the permit director. We will be printing out the copy for Governor Cuomo and delivering them by hand.   All you have to do is sign the comments and send.

The first comment is the most important, but if possible please submit the other comments as well before August 4th.

Below is a water and wetland map of the alignment area.  There are 60 waterbodies and wetlands in this area that will be at risk from the pipeline.  Look at the picture at the top. The entire CPV site is almost all wetland!!
